Camping at ‘Chopta’- Mini Switzerland in India
‘Chopta’ is an unexplored hill station in the foothills of Himalayan ranges of Uttarakhand. The picturesque hamlet is renowned for its virgin beauty, rich biodiversity and breathtaking landscape. Called ‘Mini Switzerland in India’, it is surrounded densely with mountain forests with wide expanse of rhododendrons, deodars and pine trees. The journey to Chopta will commence en route Rishikesh and traverse towards Tungnath, Chandrashila and Deoria tal. Guests will be greeted with gorgeous peaks of Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba. Chandrashila, at an altitude of 4090 meters is highest point of the mountain on offers 180 degree views of Himalayan range. Crocodile Safari and Secluded beaches of Konkan
Konkan boasts of many attractions for tourists. The Crocodile safari at the banks of Vashishti River promises yet another riveting experience for visitors. Set amidst the tranquil island tourists can spot crocodiles in its natural habitat. Crocodiles being one the most exciting reptiles are major attraction, apart from serene backwaters and bird watching. Velneshwar is one of the most pristine beaches in entire Konkan, which along with Guhagar and Hevdi make the trio most secluded beaches in the region. Guhagar beach is a long stretch of beach lined with shady Suru trees extending for almost 6 Kms. Velneshwar captures imagination of beach lovers with its white sand stretch laced with green coconut trees. Tourists can also visit the 16th century Gopalgad Fort located near Anjavel along the coast of Anjanvel Lighthouse.
‘The Little Rann of Kutch’ & ‘The Great Rann of Kutch’
Kutch has gained immense popularity amongst travelers for its unique culture, rare & endangered species, migratory birds, famous crafts and the world’s largest salt desert. Rann of Kutch is divided into major parts known as Great Rann of Kutch and Little Rann of Kutch along with Banni grasslands. The Wild Ass Sanctuary at Little Rann of Kutch is one of the most remarkable landscapes which harbor the only gene pool of Indian Wild Ass (Khur) in the entire world. Apart from Wild Ass the sanctuary has large population of various rare species such as Blue Bulls (Neelgai), Chinkara, Indian Wolf, Jackal and Desert Foxes. The sanctuary attracts many migratory birds like Flamingos, Cranes, Pelicans, Falcons and Bustards.
The Great Rann of Kutch is reputed to be the world’s largest salt desert located in the Thar Desert in the north part of Kutch. The greater Rann also called White Rann is home to wide array of flora and fauna. Kala Dungar or Black Hills which is few kilometers from the Great Rann is highest point in Kutch offering breathtaking view of the Rann. Dholavira, located on Khadir Beyt, an island in the Great Rann of Kutch has emerged as unique example of Sindu civilization. With its remains of ancient Indus Valley civilization and Fossil Museum, it one of the most prominent archaeological sites with well preserved stone architecture.
